A slowdown in UK economic growth

Falling UK retail sales in recent months together with average store prices being lower in March than a year earlier indicate that inflation in the UK is continuing to remain low. The retail sector has been negatively affected by the bad weather experienced in the UK. However, at the same time growth in online sales was higher than last year. There has also been a reported decrease in manufacturing and construction output in the first part of the year.

The figures seem to be indicating a weakening UK economy and economic growth has slowed in this period. The uncertainty surrounding the EU referendum has also had a further negative effect.
